I’m an integrative counsellor specialising in working with young people and young adults.

My whole approach is based around you and what you want from counselling; whether that is an ear to listen, coping strategies to take away or a place where you can completely be yourself and begin to explore more deeply some of the things that feel overwhelming or challenging.

I work in a gentle, down to earth and non-judgemental way. I believe the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of all counselling and is fundamental to its success. I aim to build trust, care and respect with you, so that you can feel comfortable, heard and safe during our time together. 

Although my core approach is person centred, I use a variety of therapy techniques, including CBT, Gestalt, Mindfulness, grounding techniques, trauma informed and a range of creative interventions. The sessions are always tailored to meet the unique and individual needs of each person and always embraces any special needs or neurodiversity.

I bring into my private practice over 35 years of working with young people in a variety of educational, teaching, mentoring and youth settings – from inner city Manchester to rural Devon.

I’m currently a counsellor at a school and Sixth form college in Plymouth and run my own private practice in Totnes, where I offer sessions both online and face-to-face. I work with a wide range of issues including anxiety, stress, panic, low mood and depression, self-harm, self-esteem, bereavement, family issues, peer and relationship issues, gender, sexuality, neurodiversity, academic pressure, body image, anger, and many others.

I offer a place of acceptance where you can talk about your feelings, thoughts, and worries. Working together we can explore and find strategies to cope and become more resilient. To also recognise your strengths and qualities, increase your sense of self, challenge self-limiting beliefs and behaviours, and feel more in control of things that are going on in your life
