Dr Katie Atkins, BSc DEd. HCPC registered

I am an educational psychologist with experience of working with children and young people from 2 years to 25 years in a range of settings, including home, nurseries, mainstream schools and colleges and specialist provisions. I aim to identity an individual’s barriers to learning and life as well as areas of strengths by exploring all areas of development ( social emotional and mental health; communication and interaction; sensory and physical; cognition and learning). I can help to identify specific, moderate and severe leaning needs and recommend supportive strategies and interventions. I feel passionate about empowering young people and their families to facilitate a positive change. I use a non judgmental, holistic and clear approach to ensure a greater understanding of the young person is achieved; a prerequisite to positive relationships in and out of school. Particular interests and passions include mental health, attachment, trauma, anxiety based school avoidance, communication and interaction difficulties and supporting school staff and implementing systemic change. If you would like further information, please email me on pinktreepsychology@outlook.com
